On May 28, the Urbana Parks Foundation hosted its 2026 Annual Dinner at Crystal Lake Park’s Lake House, bringing together supporters, neighbors, and friends for an evening centered on community and the future of King Park. Guests heard from keynote speaker Tori Exum-Johnson, whose moving reflection on growing up in the King Park neighborhood reminded everyone in attendance why investing in this space matters so deeply. Thanks to the generosity of those who attended, as well as donors who gave in advance of the event, the Foundation has raised just over $20,000 toward the King Park redevelopment! This is a meaningful step toward our $100,000 community fundraising goal. We are so grateful to everyone who has supported this project so far, and we invite the entire community to join us in bringing this vision to life.
